"Collective Action for Inclusive Sustainable Finance"
A complimentary and fully physical event.
Registration is open until 10 November 2023

In today's global landscape, the world is grappling with a convergence of multifaceted challenges - ranging from the climate crisis, geopolitical conflicts, inflationary pressures - culminating in what experts have termed a "polycrisis."

Amidst these challenges lie vast opportunities for collective action, which takes various forms, including dynamic partnerships within organisational functions, collaboration between institutional investors and investee companies, between banks and their customers, and corporate leaders and policymakers. The synergy between diverse stakeholders, each contributing unique strengths, serves as a powerful catalyst for developing comprehensive solutions that harmonise economic growth, environmental responsibility, and social equity.

Furthermore, within the realm of sustainable finance and investments, critical questions arise, such as - Do these financial decisions genuinely account for the needs and aspirations of all stakeholder groups? Are funds directed toward areas that can benefit the broader spectrum of society? These inquiries underscore the importance of a more inclusive approach to financing practices - a fundamental imperative in realising the essence of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring that no one is left behind.
UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) presents an exclusive half-day GO ESG 2023 - Sustainable Finance Symposium, designed to explore how the combined potential of finance and collaboration can be harnessed to advance sustainability, and pave the way toward a more resilient and inclusive Malaysia.
The half-day symposium will focus on achieving the following objectives :

To foster dialogue and encourage collaboration between corporate leaders and policymakers regarding the challenges and opportunities in the intersection of finance and sustainability, which can lead to more effective policies and corporate strategies

To explore the wider repercussions of financial decisions, ensuring that the interests and well-being of all stakeholders are considered

To encourage continuous commitment to prioritising sustainability in financial decision making and driving collective progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
