SMEs featured under the Spotlight will:
Small and medium-sized enterprises play a critical role in advancing responsible business in Malaysia and Brunei. The SME Spotlight shares the stories of SMEs that are taking practical steps aligned with the UN Global Compact Ten Principles — across human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
This platform aims to elevate SME visibility, encourage peer learning, and strengthen a community of businesses committed to responsible and sustainable practices.
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis by the UNGCMYB Internal Technical Committee.
Nominations are open all year-round.
Spotlight Categories
Aligned with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact:
Human Rights
(Principles 1 & 2)
For SMEs taking steps to support and respect human rights across their operations, workforce, or communities.
Labour
(Principles 3–6)
For SMEs advancing fair labour practices, employee well-being, and safe, inclusive working environments.
Environment
(Principles 7–9)
For SMEs implementing initiatives that reduce environmental impact, support climate action, or improve resource efficiency.
Anti-Corruption
(Principle 10)
For SMEs strengthening internal integrity, ethical conduct, governance, and anti-corruption practices.
How It Works
Submit a Spotlight Form
Choose the category most relevant to your initiative and complete the online form.

Review
UNGCMYB’s Internal Technical Committee reviews submissions for alignment with the Ten Principles, clarity of action, and demonstrable outcomes.
Notification
& Feature
SMEs whose submissions meet the criteria will receive an email notification, a digital badge, and information on upcoming features across UNGCMYB channels.
